There is so much to say about healthy nutrition it is hard to know where to start, but this blog will, hopefully, give you some quick and easy ideas to get you started.
I trained as a Nutritional Therapist at the College of Naturopathic Medicine, graduating with a distinction. The course was fabulous and set me off on a journey to learn more and more about the intricacies of how our bodies work, what can go wrong, and what can be put right by nutrition. Understanding the metabolic processes that happen inside us and what they need to function properly makes it easy to understand why your health suffers when you have a poor diet or don't absorb nutrients properly.
I am happy to work with anyone in my clinic, whatever their health issues, but I do have specific areas of interest including nutrigenomics and migraine. I have suffered with migraine since I was a child, and have tried many different approaches to improve them. I have yet to resolve mine completely, but I have certainly found some natural interventions that help. You will see blogs on here about migraines. I am also looking for clients who suffer from migraines, and am offering discounts to them, so feel free to get in touch if you are interested.
I am currently studying Nutrigenomics - the science of genetics and nutrition. The topic is fascinating and one you will get to read more about over the year. Just understanding the basics is so useful, and the more detailed reports are simply brilliant. Having a DNA report done is not cheap, so it certainly won't be something I advise everyone to do, but for anyone with complicated problems that simply won't go away, or with a vey restricted diet it could make all the difference.
The blogs will form top tips on healthy eating, advice on nutrition for different health conditions, and sometimes just information about something fascinating I've just learned.
I hope you find the blog interesting and useful. Please feel free to make a suggestion about what you'd like me to cover.
